At Jigsaw we are lucky to have some fantastic parents that give their time and resources to help us fundraise. Although fees and nursery grant cover the basic necessities like paying staff salaries and the rent, we want to be able to offer Jigsaw children a much more rewarding and enriching experience with us.

The committee organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year: Nearly new sales, Christmas raffles, a disco, running stalls at the school fetes, cake sales etc. Sometimes the staff and children do their own fundraising, like making a Christmas cake and raffling it at the Christmas performance. Sometimes for larger items, we apply to the Rotary Club (Sawston Fun Run) or John Huntingdon's Charity or other grant making bodies for a grant to cover the cost. In recent years we have been able to buy a colourful and sturdy climbing frame and slide, an air conditioning unit to improve the learning environment, a new wooden play house, new drawers and coat hooks for children, and new ipads so that more staff can make observations and take pictures using Tapestry whilst the children are playing and learning. We recently spent some money raised at a nearly new sale on having an end of year party for our children moving up to school. We had an ice cream van visit and had Lion Learners bring along lots of animals for the children to meet and learn about. This was a fantastic opportunity for all the children.

Jigsaw children usually raise money for other charities during the year too. They have had dress-up days for charity, and planted daffodil bulbs for Marie Curie in past years.

We really need parents and grandparents to help with our fundraising as much as they can - from donating cakes and raffle items to helping out on the day of the nearly new sale or disco.
